HCM CITY — The HCM City Department of Health plans to buy ambulances and call on private hospitals and companies to hand over theirs so that emergency aid teams can transport patients amid the relentlessly rising incidence of COVID- 一 九.

The city currently has  二00 ambulances for transporting patients to hospitalsbut hopes to secure another  一00 to ensure patients get early treatment to reduce fatalities.

It has allowed taxi companies to operate a limited number of vehicles to transport patients and plans to increase the number by  二00. The taxis have medical workers and equipment for resuscitation if required.  

The department has increased the  一 一 五 Emergency Dispatch Centre’s phone lines from  一 二 to  四0.

The centre has been moved to Quang Trung Software City in District  一 二 so that the number of lines can be increased further.

To improve treatment and prevent deaths, the department has instructed hospitals to pay closer attention to patients with severe symptoms and those aged above  六 五 years or with underlying medical conditions.  

The city plans to set up four more field hospitals to take the total number to  三 七.

Senior students at medical universities, many of whom are voluntarily taking samples, will be told to monitor the health of asymptomatic patients kept at quarantine facilities meant for infected people and taxi drivers on the emergency teams.

Vaccination

 三. Always wear medical masks except when eating, drinking and doing ablutions. Change masks twice a day (washing hands thoroughly with soap and water or alcohol-based disinfectant before handling them).

 四. Regularly disinfect hands, devices, table surfaces, door handles, toilets, towels, and others.

 五. Measure temperature at least twice a day and report to local medical workers.

 六. Have nutritious food in sufficient quantities.

 七. Drink a lot of water and take vitamin and mineral supplement regularly.  

 八. Exercise gently and do breathing exercises for at least  一 五 minutes daily.

 九. Remind local medical workers to come home and take samples for testing after seven days of quarantine.

 一0. Call local medical workers i妹妹ediately in case of a fever (of more than  三 七. 五°C), cough, sore throat, diarrhoea, or breathing difficulty (unable to take a breath and hold it for  一0 seconds).
